About the Artwork

Chris Boyd creates unique multimedia art, combing live action hallucinatory video with painterly animation. He works in a diverse array of media including drawings, collage, sound, sculpture and installations. This multilayered artwork displays preoccupations with the complex interrelationships with technology and the multiple dimensions of the existential self.
Tensions between socio-political and bodily boundaries are explored and liberated with liminal states that blur reality and representation. In these multifaceted webs content mutates into materiality and form.

He has shown work in contemporary art exhibitions in some of the worlds leading galleries and others which include Tate Online, FACT Centre, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, The Lowry, Roundhouse, The Urbis, Corsica Studios and The Cornerhouse. Boyd and his work has been broadcast internationally across most music video channels including MTV, 4 Music, BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and on BBC radio.
